About Laine...

Lainey started riding when she was 2, owned her first pony at age 3 in Shingle Springs California. Before she was out of grammar school, she became a member of US Pony Club, where she achieved C1 level and competed up to training level at area competitions. By age 13 Lainey knew that she wanted to be a professional so the family moved to VA in order to be closer to the Mecca of Eventing. In 1998 Lainey began competing on the East Coast at the Preliminary level. She has represented the United States in the Junior Olympics where she was awarded the Silver Medal twice and the Bronze three times.

She won the Markham Trophy for the highest placing young rider at the Fair Hill International CCI *** in October 2004 (at age 20) and placed 4th Nationally and 6th Internationally. 2006 point standings currently show Lainey ranked among the United States’ top twenty International riders. Lainey’s other accomplishments include: Deans List at University of Virginia where she’s scheduled to graduate in 2007 and… She and her mother have sung the National Anthem at a number of National Football League, National Basketball Association, and other professional sporting events. Lainey is herself a successful riding instructor and she has a wide array of students in all disciplines and levels.

Lainey has been featured in many National, Regional and Local publications, including: Cover of the Omnibus (The Annual Schedule of Combined Training events published by the USEF), Practical Horseman twice, The Chronicle of the Horse numerous times with four major articles, US Eventing, USA Equestrian, Richmond Times Dispatch, Goochland Gazette, Goochland Courier and the Midlothian Exchange.
